My Story
My name is Marielena Bravo, and I founded La Herencia Mía because I know what it feels like to live between two worlds. I left Guatemala at four years old, and though my life was elsewhere, my heart always knew it belonged here.
Returning as an adult wasn't just about seeing Guatemala - it was about rediscovering myself. Walking streets that my ancestors walked, cooking meals my family shared generations before, and finally filling gaps I didn't even know existed - it was powerful, healing, and transformative. I knew I couldn't be the only one longing to reconnect.
That's why I created this space - a way for others like me, the descendants of immigrants, to return home not just as visitors, but as family, reconnecting deeply with our roots and reclaiming parts of ourselves we thought were lost.

Experience La Herencia Mía
Many of us grew up far from the land our families once called home—carrying the memories, foods, and stories, but not always the full picture of where we come from. At La Herencia Mía, we create meaningful travel experiences for Guatemalan immigrants and their descendants who are ready to reconnect with their culture, family, and ancestral homeland.
